Newsletter 28th June 2019 – Scantronic i-on Compact Control Panel & New Software and Design

Hello ?

Long over due Scantronic are getting there logo back after being purchased by Eaton a few years ago, everything was badged as Eaton.

Scantronic has been and is a strong brand that has been going for longer than the majority of the rivals.
Scantronic has the experience that has kept its competitiveness even though it has not released any new technology in the last 18 months. That has come to an end with the release of new Software for its second-generation panels, allowing more functionality and easier set up of panel communication paths for the engineer. As well as redesigned slimline vibration sensors and a lot more coming.
A new communication board for the second-generation panels,  is the Com-Data-4G to enhance the Secureconnect APP giving reliability even if your broadband router has connectivity problems (power loss, or no internet) you still have connectivity to the Cloud.

Also, Scantronic keep the user and engineer codes as they should be, the user has and retains control of there own codes, these are not shared with the engineer as they are with some cheaper rivals. Engineers and the companies within the industries are Guardians of the systems, ensuring minimum of downtime, reliable service that these systems can provide, engineers should not be privy to user codes. That could be seen as an engineer having control over the arming and disarming. If it is required to test the systems arming and disarming functions, an engineer would ask the client to change the user code without watching your code being input.

With the revelation of last months newsletter that the Facial Recognition was compromising people’s data protection rights/privacy, it is only right that in your own properties you retain the control over your systems to know who is arming and disarming the system with no imitations. Yes, I know engineers are vetted with the majority of companies, but it does not stop Mr Unscrupulous trying to get in on the act, remember you get what you pay for.
