Onvif Compliance and Compatibility

WHY STANDARDS – There is a wide variety of hardware and software available in the networking world. They are to define and ensure a minimum acceptable implementation of functions.

A little about Onvif, it was founded in 2008 by Axis, Sony and Bosch to create global open standards for the interface of network video products. Providing greater flexibility and more freedom of choice for the selection of devices to exchange and make use of systems and software. (Products from a variety of different but compliant manufacturers).

The organization has a global member base of established camera, video management system and access control companies and nearly 10,000 Profile conformant products.

With Profile S for streaming video.

Profile G for recording and storage.

Profile C for physical access control.

Profile Q for improved out-of-the-box functionality.

Profile A for broader access control configuration.

Profile T Release Candidate for advanced streaming.

ONVIF continues to work with its members to expand the number of IP interoperability solutions ONVIF conformant products can provide. Membership is open to manufacturers, software developers, consultants, system integrators, end-users and other interest groups that wish to participate in the activities of ONVIF.

ONVIF OBJECTIVES – To assist the development and use of a worldwide standard for the interface of internet protocol based physical security products. Compliant products can dramatically reduce the time spent designing and installing because the devices have been certified to work in collaboration with each other.

Pyronix smartphone voice notifications

Pyronix are committed to continuous improvement and have added voice push notification to their ProControl+ intruder alarm system APP this week. Available on iOs and very soon on Android.

If there is an alarm, or if the system is set or unset or if an event is triggered by any of the detection devices integrated into the system. The user will receive a voice push notification to there smart phone that will get their attention.

Apollo Fire Detectors Ltd is delighted to have won the Fire Safety Product of the Year Award at the 2018 PSI (Professional Security Installer) Premier Awards for its innovative Apollo SOTERIA® Dimension fire detector range.

SOTERIA® Dimension is a range of sleek, flat optical fire detectors for flush mounting, using chamberless fire detection technology. The new range consists of an Optical Detector designed for commercial environments with high aesthetic requirements and a Specialist Optical Detector, designed for custodial and care environments.

Elite Security Systems has had a very productive month, unfortunately, our commitment to installations and maintenance comes first, has meant that our proposed bench testing of equipment is not complete and delayed till next month.
